Considering the high trading volume and the public’s interest in trading in the Equities market, extended trading periods are available, divided into Pre-Market and After-Hours.
Viewing Extended Hours
In BlackArrow, you can view these periods by going to Tools > Settings > Appearance > Chart and enabling the Show extended hours option.
As shown in the image below, the Pre-Market is indicated by a yellow band on the time scale, while the After-Hours is indicated by a blue band.
To view the start and end times of the extended trading periods, go to View > Asset Information.
Sending Orders
Some brokers typically restrict certain order types during the extended trading period. For example, Limit orders may not be available, and Market orders may be subject to partial execution due to the lower liquidity characteristic of these sessions.
In BlackArrow, Limit and Stop orders placed during this period are created as synthetic orders, that is, they are managed internally by our systems and sent to the broker only when the asset’s price reaches the specified level, as market orders. This allows the platform to enable their use even when broker restrictions would normally prevent their creation. OCO orders are also processed as synthetic orders during this period
